December 2011 Meeting Notes

Written by Brian Mason on .

From our friends down in AZ:

Hello User Group Members,

I have posted the videos of the meeting up to SkyDrive, along with the bonus material from Greg (found in powershellinfo.zip).  Both Harold Wong (MSFT) and Kevin Remde (MSFT) made recordings (thanks guys!) - and you will see both of them posted.  I think the quality is about the same (although I haven't had a chance to watch both of them completely).  You will see the (two) WMV versions along with the (two) Lync Versions (which require the Lync Recording Player).

January Meeting - System Center Universe 2012

Written by Brian Mason on .

MNSCUG is joining in on an all-day System Center event. Microsoft's cool new building we just saw can't promise lots of space for this January 19th event, so Benchmark has stepped up to help out (thanks Lu!).

System Center Universe 2012 is a one-day globally available technical event which will focus on the System Center 2012 products and new capabilities resulting from these releases. The conference begins at 8:00 am CST on Thursday, January 19th, 2012.

Although this event is being held is Austin, Tx, there will be user groups like ours all over the world joining into the simulcast. Breakfast and Lunch will be provided for all attending at Benchmark in Edina.

The agenda is listed here. I know that we just talked about what we'd like to see over the next year regarding all System Center products and interest waned beyond CM\OpsMgr\Orchestrator. Of course, you're free to come and go. We'll have more details as we approach the date. Just note that Wally Mead is one of the speakers!

Hello Everyone,

I am really excited to announce that we will have Greg Ramsey in person presenting at our next user group meeting. Here are the details:

Greg Ramsey, Configuration Manager MVP, will be presenting (in person) on using PowerShell with ConfigMgr and he will show you how to make some of those day to day tasks a lot easier.

Greg Ramsey is a systems engineer specializing in global systems management for Dell IT. He has a B.S. in Computer Sciences and Engineering from the Ohio State University and is a Microsoft Most Valuable Professional (MVP) for Microsoft System Center Configuration Manager. Greg coauthored SMS 2003 Recipes: A Problem-Solution Approach (Apress, 2006) and Microsoft System Center Configuration Manager Unleashed (Sams, 2009). Greg is cofounder of the Ohio SMS Users Group, and the Central Texas Systems Management User Group.

For this meeting, we are creating an online meeting for those that cannot attend in person but would still like to attend. Also, we are extending this online meeting to members of other User Groups.
